Politicians... : should minimum education be made compulsory ?
Many times I have heard people discussing that there should be some rule which lays down minimum qualification for politicians. What I fail to understand what they mean by qualification.. is it a degree which we get from school or colleges ? if that is so I will say a big NO to any of this type of process. I would like our MP's to be educated but more than that I would like them to be human. And I don't think having any degree makes us more human.
I would not like to ask many questions..just some very basic ones..
1) I have seen some accident cases on roads, hardly anyone passing by helps. And I haven't seen any of the so called educated peoples stop their cars and help them. If education can't teach us this, what use is it. And how many of us use education to EARN MONEY instead of EARNING HUMANITY. And if that is the case, why do you want to make education the foremost criteria. Because we can't think ahead of this ! On the contrary I have seen some less educated peoples coming to the help of those. What a irony, they are uneducated and we are educated ! Or is it the other way !
2) Why do we make selection in helping the helpless.. this I have seen a lot of times and this again is a practice followed by the so called educated mass.
3) Politics require courage...some steps to take which isn't profitable always... which lacks in the so called educated mass.
4) How many of us (educated mass) have tried to give something worthful to the society..nowadays we feel hard to give to our blood relations, society is a long ask. Now please don't tell me you work for some NGO...give me a break .
Now you may say I am in support of politicians, well I only want to say, they are too from our society. They reflect what we are, they aren't any different from us !
And the next time when you try to glamorise education (which is concerned with getting marks only), think for a moment! It should be more than that...
.. I haven't made any statement above, but the trend is disturbing...

Nuclear Deal : Is it all about the deal ?
Its less than 12 hrs to go for "No Confidence Motion" against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. This motion is brought courtesy LEFT , which is hardly right when our country is of concern.
The last 7 days has made me think..is it all about Nuclear Deal? I don't think so. Everybody is worried about his/her future. No one is concerned about the country. Its pity how much we have stooped..
I am no supporter of Congress, but on this front I won't like the government to fall.
Left is a party with whom no national party should tie up. I wonder with whom their loyalty lies !
And it pains when some politicians say that they have taken this or that decision after studying nuclear deal. Its a big lie, and they should have courage to tell the truth.
And what pains more is that, on a NATIONAL ISSUE a decision should be made on consensus, not from a vote difference of less than 5 votes !
Anyone who aligns with the CPI's is bound to pay the price sooner or later. What use is it to have such a partner?
...to be contd.

Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS)
Pune is facing traffic issues and the infrastructure here isn't sufficient. To solve this issue to some extent various studies were done and after spending crores of rupees they came up with various plans. One among those was BRTS. I saw how they reserved a seperate lane for the buses. I was sceptical of its success from the day I saw the roads on which a lane was reserved. How can they make such a mistake if a common man can understand that its not going to work. Theory and practical are two different things. All things which look working on paper sometimes fail terrribly when put on practice. Some of my views...
BRTS was a good idea. But it was to fail because
1) The roads weren't wide enough to allow a seperate lane for buses. This led to increase in chaos. And marking a seperate road, involved freezing few inches of already scarce roads width. They did try to increase the width, but it wasn't sufficient. The ideal would have been to have seperate lanes for heavy vehicles, light vehicles and very light vehicles, but this is quite a impossible task as this will require freeing space near road, which looks a distant realy in near future.
2) Reserving seperate lane only for Government Buses : This was I think a terrible decision to make. Just imagine, one lane is reserved for government run buses, and on the other lane private buses, trucks, jeeps, cars, bikes.. will move. This will bring more chaos naturally. Now they have allowed private buses too, my simple query is...how can you commit such a gross error ?
3) Stress on Infrastrucure only : Wheneve we think of solving a problem, we try to bring more money. So naturally they thought of running lots of development plans. Its good that we are expanding infrastructure, but we should also ask a question : are we utilising what we have to the fullest ? We need to put to best use with what we have. Traffic today is badly managed, which needs a lot of improvement. And believe me, solving this to a large extent not always needs Flyovers, wide roads, etc . We should apply our logic when we think of solving problems.
4) Blindly following the plans : We blindly accept what big consultation firms propose. And this is the practice throughout the country. I don't think they know the exact ground conditions. Showing the action plan with figures, graphs looks promising..but we need to test those too.
5) More Stress should be on Managing people : We need to train our countrymen on driving habits. we are terrible on this. Saying that we don't have enough people to enforce this effectively. I only want to say, can you not make a zone, say of just 2km square, an ideal traffic rule zone. Enforce the law with 100% seriousness, you never know what small steps can do.
So from next time we should apply plain logic when selecting schemes. Just because it has come from a big firm, we shouldn't doubt our acumen.

Product Development : Unforseen challenges
Developing a PRODUCT is a very big challenge. A challege which can break you to pieces. There are lots and lots of hurdles. This is what I can say about this
1) Product development can't happen in 9 to 6 schedule : Yes, because its not a task, which is assigned to you. Lots of unforseen things are there. There are days when you can't work, there are days when you don't get tired even after working endlessly...
2) You can't buy a product : Had it been so easy, anyone would have hired some really good guys, paid them good for a year. And after that, walk away with a good product. Its definitely not like that.
3) Product development is all about Zeal : Yes ZEAL is what keeps you going. And this plays the most important role.
4) Its all about problem solving skill : Without this you can't proceed. Sooner or later you need to develop this.
5) Its more about doing things simple : We do the contrary. I don't know why we tend to think this way. And if you are going to solve lots of problem in a difficult way, then its better to leave the development, because you are treading on the wrong path.
6) Believe in your product : Because if you don't, no one will.
7) Never loose the spirit of development : 100 ideas bring 10 working ideas...which in turn bring 1 working product. And you need to work for all the 100. Strange but true.
8) Pinpoint exact reason why you failed earlier : If you try something new, you will fail and failing is not bad, but failing the same way isn't good either.
9) Its all about ATTITUDE : And this attitude isn't the one most HR's look for. I wonder how can they relate attitude with MARKS, some PRE LEARNT QUESTIONS, PRE LEARNT QUESTIONS and PRE LEARNT QUESTIONS. If you really want to test someone's skill, ask a simple question and hear what he answers, and then test his depth of understanding. Depth of UNDERSTANDING is rarely interpreted. Never ask a difficult question.
And if you are not in development..cheer up... its not for you guys :-)
*** to be contd...

Mahatama Gandhi : Why I respect him the most
Mahatama Gandhi.. what comes's to your mind first.. father of nation..freedom fighter..and now you will start to compare him with other freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, ...
I have immense respect for all our great leaders, they were a breed par excellence.
One quite strange phenomena I have noted though :
Young generation will support Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose...
and Old generation would support Gandhiji more.. and all over the world other great leaders will talk a lot about Gandhiji. Even Einstein, Nelson Mandela.. have talked a lot about Gandhiji and respected him a lot.
So why not us.. this thought had puzzled me a lot of times..
And then I thought of researching about him. I read many books like
Experiments with Truth
Mahatama Gandhi : Autobiograph
Bharat Ek Khoj..etc
Some literatures written by Einstein, Nelson Mandela, freedom movement, etc
As i read those, I got to know the greatness of Mahatama Gandhi..
Mahatama Gandhi was not only freedom fighter..he fought for all the things which meant freedom, not only getting rid of British Raj. How many of our past leaders have fought for
* Untouchables
* Farmers
*How many have worked with Leprosy patients ? We even fear going near them.
*..
He was at a complete service to humanity.
During those times Un-touchability was a big scar on our society. Some sections of the society didn't let some sections to even drink water from wells? they blocked their access to temples ? my dear what use is getting freedom if you aren't free from all these ?? and how many have fought for their cause ? wasn't getting rid of these necessary for our society ?? its still prevalent around us ..
I respect Gandhiji for the service he did for the humanity. He wasn't only a freedom fighter. He was fighter for all the wrongs in our society. And the way he carried out speaks volumes about his strength.
==================
This is what Einstein and Martin Luther King said about Gandhiji (http://www.indianembassy.org/amb/amb_gandhi_houston_04.htm)
Albert Einstein on Gandhi: "Generations to come, it may be, will scarce believe that such one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth".
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Gandhi: "……..If humanity is to progress, Gandhi is inescapable. He lived, thought, acted and inspired by the vision of humanity evolving toward a world of peace and harmony………….."
The above were great people, and if they have immense respect for Gandhiji, then there must be something.
===============
I can go on and on and on...
I would say to the today's generation that read about your leaders, read about their work, and then make your views. The problem today is we don't spend time enough to know the facts, and we go by what people say. We don't have our own views.

Silver screen on Idiot Box
Nowadays its quite common to find film actors/actresses appearing on TV, whether for any Realty show or game show, or something else. Not only actors/actresses we find directors, composers, musicians, and all appearing on TV sets.
What a change... few years back none of them would have approved for TV. This shows the potential of channels... What I don't like is mad following, just for the sake of money and popularity.
I remember KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) with Amitabh Bachchan, which was a turning point. A huge success and a brave decision which not all are capable of. He will be remembered for yet another feat, doing things which not all do, or I will say not all are capable of.. and I always salute the originality, because it takes a lot to produce one original thing.

PC cofiguration : Be wise in your configuration
Whats the best and cheapest way to increase satisfaction level of any computer user?
Many think providing higher configuration system, the latest in the market will make end user happy.. end users also think the very same for most of the time...but it's not true always..
how many of us need the highest configuration.. rarely few... and if used and configured intelligently, you can experience the difference..
Intelligent selection of hardware and software both decide the overall experience. So lets talk of the hardware first...
RAM : More than anything else, you should have this the most. In most of the companies I have noticed this strange thing.. If you are working on XP you will be provided 512 MB of RAM, and if on VISTA you will be working with 1 GB of RAM.. because this is what most systems today come equipped with.. Any wise user will suggest of doubling it i.e. 1 GB with XP and min 2 GB with Vista and so on..if you can upgrade to more, always the merrier :-) and the price isn't too high nowadays..so always make a plan of upgrading to higher RAM's and it should be more.. RAM impacts your performance the most ..
Keyboard and Mouse : Whatever your configuration, you can't be working on your system longer without having a good set of Mouse and Keyboard. Many will go with features, which isn't good always. Never compromise on this front and don't save here..yes don't save here. Ever tried typing with a good and bad keyboard, and what effect it has on your experience..now you can understand why I am stressing on this aspect.. And do you know when BALL mouse should be preferred, and when you should go for OPTICAL mouse. Most of the time OPTICAL will suit your needs, but in some cases BALL mouse is the best choice...
The above two affects the most, and it doesn't cost that much considering the PC's overall cost. So be wise while deciding configuring of your system, and upgrade it with better options.
===================
About software, I will just like to throw some light on Antivirus installed in the computer.
Antivirus : Most of the time we don't go by our need, we go by the name. You will go for McAfee, Norton and other big names. My simple question is why don't you prefer Quickheal or AVG or some other ones ?? Have you ever considered how much resource your antivirus requires and is it that worth ? Most of the times we aren't wise here too.
===================
And in the end, a little bit of common sense can make your system and your experience a lot to rejoice about.

Google and Forums : Quite helpful
Sometimes I feel how difficult it would have been without help of Google. Google has made doing lots of things quite simple, you just need to be smart enough to look for information.
And when you get in some trouble, which even google can't solve, then there are forums which help you out. I admire the way people help each other in this field :-)

NDTV India : Nice news channel
One hindi news channel which is worth viewing is NDTV India. They are far far ahead of any other TAMASHA channels .. Keep up the good work !
Personal blogs will act as news sites too ...
It is still raw, but I firmly believe people would be getting to know the latest of anywhere from blogs.. because blogs are written without any vested interest..and out of 10 you can safely assume authenticity of any news from 8..puzzled...see below
suppose something happens at a remote place, news channels won't have any access.. but still people living in those areas can submit the information on some site, or their blogs.. now you will say, not all have internet..and why will someone take pain in writing..well I already said it will take some years ..may be 10 also..but it is quite possible.. n GOOGLE needs to work on how to extract news items from BLOGS and how to differentiate blogs from other sites.. and will GOOGLE be there at that time ?? nice question .. :-)
so all the news sites..be aware of a revolution which will be there in some years from now ...

blogs on Weekend
hey I have decided to devote couple of hrs every Sat/Sun for my blogs.. will try to update on what I am doing, what i wish to do.. overall it will be full of my thoughts whatever they may be :-)
Mouse , CD/DVD will be replaced soon
Mouse in computer is quite useful, but I think it won't be there for long. The biggest drawback of mouse what I feel is its size, it should be something like Pen..which you can hold, write, draw, ... so lets keep our mouse safe, who knows one day you won't find any :-)
CD/DVD : this will be replaced by some other storage media..or something which is reliable. With the increase in their use, their reliability is not 100%. I have seen many times CD's getting corrupted. This is more so with Movie CD's.. and all the fun goes when you have to watch your movie with poor quality video.. so innovators need to think on that.. and I am sure either some sort of coating will be there which will be scratch proof, or some other way.. PEN drive is an alternate but not a replacement for CD's... definitely not ... :-)
and there are lots more that will be obsolete in near future .. ...to be contd ..

CPI ..what are they upto ? Nuclear deal and Price hike
Communist Party of India ... their ideology is good, but not all good things are put in practice ! and we should move with the times..
Their blind following of China on all matters make me think, do they have any thougt process among themselves, or they just follow anything chinese.
Their opposition to Nuclear deal because America is involved is a mistake our country can't take. I don't think they are any good supporter.. Congress would have done better inspite of them. We should move ahead with the deal. We all are aware where the interests of the CPI's lie. Their support of China inspite of the violence in LAHASA is a danger we need to recognise. They should think what they are doing.. we all know what they have made of Bengal..
And now they are against PRICE hike of Petrol, Diesel,.. Our NAVRATNA PSU is suffering losses of thousands of crores daily... today I read about LIQUIDITY crunch IOC is facing.. if the price has jumped to such high levels, consumers must pay. And pricing mechanism shouldn't be regulated. Let market decide the price. Regarding Diesel, you can say that it should be regulated, well..its understandable, because our farmers use it.. but no such argument is for Petrol. And what about the Diesel varients vehichles coming.. levy a huge tax on them, or deny them getting subsidised fuel meant for farmers.
The decision of not hiking price is bad. They will bleed our PSU's and this is what CPI's want. They want everyone to be poor.. pity..
Congress should rise above these, and save the Nuclear deal. If it isn't we won't be getting such deal in at least 15yrs to come.. the nation will pay a heavy price for this.. BJP should help congress in getting this through.. its the need of the hour...
I remember how Narsimha Rao was with Atal Bihari during Pokhran Nuclear Test. When nation comes we need to stand together.
Lovely innovation from ICICI bank
Great innovation from ICICI bank. They have introduced a virtual keyboard for entering passwords, this way its almost safe to use it from public places too. This is what innovation is all about !

National Policy on Terrorism a MUST
First of all I condemn terrorist attack in no small terms. Its high time and we need to act NOW.
Few hours back our country faced yet another terrorist attack.. as with corruption, now we don't react much on these as if it has become quite frequent. Few months back we had seen serial blast in Mumbai... now Jaipur.. so whats going on.. ??
We don't have any National Policy on Terrorism.. even if we do have, I don't see it to be any effective. We need to deal it sternly. We all are aware of many sleeper cells of terrorist in our country, who can be active any time..why are we giving them chance to strike ? Can't we act and stop all these ? We can..but the problem is that ours is a vast coutry, and different states are ruled by different parties..some regional, some national.. they differ in their views, their action..
So to effectively conquer it we need to have a UNIFORM TERRORISM POLICY..and its implementation should be Centre's responsibility. If any organization is found involved in terrorist activity, it should be banned throughout the coutry (not in some states only) and action taken against them.
I am fed up of listening to leaders saying its shocking, it should be condemmed, and all.. what are they doing to stop it. Because of politics even our intelligence is not able to deliver.
Terrorist are not humans, they are human bombs. What right do they have to kill innocents ? And if they do so, we need to show them the way.
And in the Terrorism policy, we need to have instructions for the MEDIA too. They shouldn't show BLOOD on the channels..but it appears that there is some competition going on to show DISTURBING pictures. We know they won't stop this, so we need to have a policy for them too during these crisis.
We need to be firm in our policy implementation. We shouldn't be lax in these. Today we are facing a national threat from them, their plans are to disturb the fabric of our country. Lets show them we AREN'T A WEAK NATION.
Jai Hind !

Smile so pure
I was on my way back to Pune from Shirdi in a bus. Bus ride for me has always been an exploring opportunity. Buses take you inside various town... you get an opportunity to see various life styles in a very quick time, which isn't possible while in a train or plane.
Whenever I pass through cities, the pattern is quite confusing. Everyone is running after some endless circle. People moving in luxurious cars, people in luxurious apartments.. even middle class and poor class in cities look totally lost.. I hardly could find anyone sporting a genuine smile ?
...While passing through some village, I found small childrens coming out of their houses scantly dressed, waving to us... I could see the charm in their eyes. Innocent childrens, waving to us with a smile..this was over in two seconds, but it made me think for much longer. They weren't jealous of us.. they just tried to become part of it by waving to us..
I wish we too had the same sense of joy, happiness...really a lot you can learn from the childrens !!!

terrorism
What is terrorism?
Why is terrorism?
Who are terrorists?
Why have they become terrorist?
What have we done to make them terrorist?
What are we doing to avoid people going terrorism way?
Are we responsible?
Can we deal terrorism by force?
What goes inside a terroris't mind?
What are the forms of terrorism?
Is the word terrorist proper?

Astami : My first fast
Today being Astami, (an auspicous ocassion in Navratra) I decided to take fast .. the first in my life...
I had some strange feelings..apart from religious blessings, you get the following
** You learn to be more calm and composed
** You respect food and can imagine what it would be to go without food, which in our country isn't very uncommon.
Overall a nice experience if you can take fast in its true essence.

Education system
... what is education system all about ?
Is it to make you a better citizen..?
or to impart knowledge...?
I don't think the above two is true.. with due respect to all who score good in current system, I wish to say that it just shows how sincere you were in the last week of the exam.. and nothing else ...
Just on the basis of your marks, you cant decide anything in totality.. so why the mad race of getting 99% and more...
I have seen numerous examples of people of far greater ability scoring so low in exams.. may be the system doesn't excite them to deliver...
The most difficult exam in our country is of Civil services (better known as IAS), and the people who qualify in those are best academically..they have knowledge of all..geography, civics, history, india, asia, world.... almost infinity.. but still most can't stand up against wrong doings.. ?? ever wondered why ?? just think...
..to be contd..

Media .. what role are they playing ?
Hey I think Media has changed its role.. earlier it used to report ...
but now...
media is making news or in other words creating news... strange but true !
May better sense prevail..

Road rage ?
Time has changed..
we don't have many noble men travelling on road... The sort of aggresivenes shown on the road puzzles me.. is it necessary ?
Can't we travel in lighter mood..lets be nice not only towards other people but towards ourselves also !

IT : Making things appear complicated
Ever wondered how much we try to make things appear complicated in an IT field ?
I don't have formal education of computer (except CDAC) but in most of the cases I have found solutions so simple whenever I could, that it will appear to be very complicated at first thought.
I still have and always had a firm belief that the answer to most of the complicated problems around us (programmatic or otherwise) lies in understanding it and doing it simple. Simple is the keyword..
WEB 2.0 .. you must have heard this a lot .. what exactly does it mean ? Can you explain it to one who don't know anything about computers ? Can you explain him why is it so important for him ? Now don't say its a complicated thing.. I won't take this argument.. this concept has evolved from earlier ones, and if we can understand those, why do we make it sound so big ?
Agile Development.. now dont give me a definition or some examples repeated N number of times.
Hardly anyone will say "Database design", instead they will prefer to say "Schema" .. Schema sounds great..thats why we use it :-) How many know the minutest of difference between these if any ?
One of the most used will be that I am using the latest version. For example being a .net Programmer we have used many versions of Visual Studio.. Most will say I use version 2008 .. my simple question to them is.. have you changed your coding style, debugging style, deployment style ? If not then why to make so much fuss of this..n dear have you used most of the features present in newer version ? Just using some of them will not make you a true upward compatible. But sounding upward makes an impression..right :-)
Clustering, Indexing, security, ... we use a lot.. How many of us have implemented those succesfully ?
We need SQL Server 2005 .. why 2005.. why not 2000, or 7.0 ?? .. Come up with a practical scenario and describe it why can't we use the earlier version.
Webservices.. dll's etc.. wow..sounds so technical.. Is it very different from our plain function .. haven't there need arisen to have a function far away..
Do we need to sound contrary to what we are...just to make an impression..is that so ?
===============
sounding negative ?? .Definitely not.. Its realistic.. Lets be true to ourselves.. and accept what we know. There isn't any harm in saying I don't know this ..right .. may be not :-)

Safari is the best !
SAFARI : browser
Hey just 30 mins has passed, and I am fallen in love with this browser. Its stunning. My previous best was Opera but it lacked some crucial features.
But Safari has it all..
Its fast and stable. Looks great and easy to use.. and it has just ventured in the browser market.. Looks a worthy competitor to me.
Lets see how far it goes !
Everyone should give it a try.

We need to think ...
Last few weeks have been turbulent in Maharashtra. A new wave of regionalism is being carved in the already divided country. When will the common man understand things like this ?
Already divided coutry ? you know why... because
* We fight over cast
* We fight over religion
* We fight over status
* We fight over how one should live or not live
* We fight on some things as silly as one can imagine.
But still we manage to stay together is because we still have some hope left. We have few people who understand how dangerous it can get.
Just imagine.. today we are fighting on the basis of STATE, what is the gurantee that you won't fight for your DISTT.. your CITY.. tomorrow. Looks impossible right.. mind it few years back even division on the basis of STATE looked so.
We do have regionalism problems in some states, but I never ever realised it will take to this level.
Ya its right that local people shouldn't be compromised, I also stand by that argument. But the way it was carried out had left a deep scar. How long it will take to heal is difficult to prdict, and will it ever be the same as before ?? We still remember what BABRI MASJID, GODHRA, GUJRAT, and other incidents has done to our society.
The feeling of NOT WANTED is such that you get to think in a wrong way, get to act in a wrong way...and this is what I fear the most for my beloved country.
Yes few states today are ahead in development and people from other parts come in thousands..so what should they do.. should they leave their family unfed ? such is the pain of being poor and helpless, we can hardly think of..let alone doing something for them.
I have deep love for Maharashtra, I have lived here for the most part of my life. Whenever I go back, I give examples of its development, law and order, etc compared to other states.. But these comparisons were meant to be healthy.. never to show you are inferiour or I am superior...
Politicians of other states instead of making inflammatory comments should go back and look at what they have done. They are the reasons why people keep coming for jobs. Instead of working for the development, they choose to incite public passion.
In cricket we always had most of the players from Mumbai, Karnataka...what if we start to have players from all over the country based on regions and not merit ? Will our team be the same ? Let alone a great team, will we be able to play together..and what will be the result ? its anyone's guess...
Give me a sigle example where you can achieve 100% localization.. Building plants involve machinary from outside countries, we even share technology for tasks like building bridges, power plants, even agriculture, etc.. Our country has generated lakhs of jobs in IT, because of other coutries.. Should we say a big NO to all this ? And what will we achieve then ? If we just want to talk about REGIONALISM, where will it take us ?
Today we don't want people from other states.. ohh sorry from states like UP and Bihar.. People from other states need not worry..Right ? Totally wrong.. Will there not be voices against the remaining ones later .. there will be...because how are you going to draw a line.. ? "Divide and Rule" bares none.
Almost everyone goes to place of worship, how can we face GOD if we do so wrong.. or are we behaving like GOD ?
Ours is a country full of GODMEN, some preache YOGA..some there other styles..no one is worried about whats going on in the coutry.. What kind of worshippers they are and are they worthy of that ?
Why do we again and again say law is same for one and all. 99% of the time it isn't. Its a big mockery. Why don't we change the constituion which says it will be differnt for politicians, different for rich peoples, differnt for musclemens.. and all the laws will be applied to helpless..
Let people live in peace, they already have enough worries to take care of. And let us stay united, because then only we will be able to take INDIA to the next level.

Great Indian Postal Service
Nowadays we hardly use services provided by our postal department. Private couriers have replaced them in most parts, and they do offer quick service. But one thing I must praise them for.. they deliver letters, etc with utmost accuracy with minimum of details.. you may say that many times they don't deliver, you may be right, I won't argue on this :-)
Here is one incident of mine
Can a letter reach with just a CORRECT NAME and PLACE.. yes just the two of them... QUARTER NUMBER was wrong, Distt was wrong...even PINCODE was wrong.. but yes the postal department did deliver it.. I have few more incidents where it wasn't just possible to deliver...but how they manage to do that.. only they know :-)
I haven't seen any private couriers delivering with so many wrong details.. I greatly acknowledge this remarkable quality... hats off to Indian Postal Service :-)

phir bhi dil hai hindustani...
you must have noticed this.. :-)
When our great middle class travel by plane they won't remove their airline sticker. If not always, atleast for few days... some thing will be there which will highlight their PLANE travel :-)

Train journey to home : IRONY
I wonder why I get lost most when I travel.. I can spend endless hours sitting at a platform, watching passengers. Some waiting for their trains, some having coffee, some enquiring about trains, some looking for someone in the crowd, some running... I can imagine life in trains and platforms :-) Many livelihood exists at station..begging..selling..stealing.. its a big commercial place too...
I like to observe people. During journey people reveal themselves more unknowingly..that's what i like to observe. How difficult we have made our life, how untrue we lead our life.. why ? no one has the answer .. or may be we don't want to answer it ...
Few things have shook me... One incident is here.. :-)
I was waiting for my train at KURLA junction. It was still a good 5 hours..so I had to wait.. but I never get bored of it.. I was busy with my stuff..observing people..this time my eyes laid on two very small kids .. 4-5 years I think.. they were begging... they came to me also, but I have a habit of not giving..but everytime someone begs in front of me.. i get ashamed..not because of them..but because of how insensitive we are towards our society.. my resolve to do something becomes more strong..how can we live so happily when everyone is crying around us..ohh I think we like to feel great when surrounded by things like this..this should change..then only we can be a great nation..a nation who is sensitive to society.. now why isn't this the case.. lots of reasons.. will take a big post :-) So let me go back to my story of TWO small KIDS..begging kids ...
So those boys were begging..some gave ..some didn't ..some abused... Just from the crowds a teen aged boy appeared..he bought two plates of SAMOSA, one for each.. and gave it to them.. Mind it, the boys didn't go to him.. he came forward himself.. I salute that BOY for the courage.. this takes a lot of inner strength !
I was watching the little boys having SAMOSA.. so small they were.. their eyes looked so innocent.. we can't earn even at the age of 15..and those little kids have to earn to live at so innocent age.. what do we expect them to become later..how can we forgive ourselves of our responsibility if they get involved in some crime later ?
They looked to me like a grownup's .. they were taking care of themselves even at such tender age .. things like this shake me... We don't let a chance go by to critisize when they steal, rob.. but what do we expect from them ? They have faced harsh conditions so early..what is the kids fault..ohh yes..the family they were born in !
Aren't we responsible in some way or the other... ??

Train journey to home : Girl descrimination
Travelling by train has always fascinated me, this time wasn't any different. Whenever I travel lots of thought come into my mind. So here I go :-)
===========================================
We still differentiate between a boy and a girl
===========================================
I was travelling by AC 2 tier, it was necessary to reveal the class because we all think people travelling in those classes are educated, informed... but to my astonishment this wasn't the case !
There was a family.. 1 small boy, 1 small girl, DADAJI, DADIJI and NANI.. It was dinner time and all were having dinner. I remember my childhood days when we liked to eat dinner served by Pantry, same was the case with the boy and girl. Few minutes later Pantry dinner was being served. Little boy started asking his DADA, DADI for it.. How could the girl miss this, so she also asked for it :-)
Till here everything appeared to be normal..but what surprised me was the order for just 1 plate. You guessed it right, boy was served and the girl wasn't. I could see pain in her face, which clearly suggested that this wasn't the first time. So what could see do..nothing but she went to sleep in her berth.
After few moments when the boy had his fill, DADAJI called the girl to have some from his brother's plate. ..but why ? Why not brother from his sister's plate... ??
This may appear not to be an issue, but I was there to witness the partiality in favour of the boy child. The pain in her eyes told all, but what can see do ? She has been facing all this before without knowing ... This clearly suggests no matter how educated we are, no matter how elite we look like, no matter how modern we make of ourselves, no matter what we pretend.. we are a society who still discriminates between a boy and a girl....

We still differentiate between a boy and a girl
