Train journey to home : IRONY

I wonder why I get lost most when I travel.. I can spend endless hours sitting at a platform, watching passengers. Some waiting for their trains, some having coffee, some enquiring about trains, some looking for someone in the crowd, some running... I can imagine life in trains and platforms :-) Many livelihood exists at station..begging..selling..stealing.. its a big commercial place too...

I like to observe people. During journey people reveal themselves more unknowingly..that's what i like to observe. How difficult we have made our life, how untrue we lead our life.. why ? no one has the answer .. or may be we don't want to answer it ...

Few things have shook me... One incident is here.. :-)

I was waiting for my train at KURLA junction. It was still a good 5 hours..so I had to wait.. but I never get bored of it.. I was busy with my stuff..observing people..this time my eyes laid on two very small kids .. 4-5 years I think.. they were begging... they came to me also, but I have a habit of not giving..but everytime someone begs in front of me.. i get ashamed..not because of them..but because of how insensitive we are towards our society.. my resolve to do something becomes more strong..how can we live so happily when everyone is crying around us..ohh I think we like to feel great when surrounded by things like this..this should change..then only we can be a great nation..a nation who is sensitive to society.. now why isn't this the case.. lots of reasons.. will take a big post :-) So let me go back to my story of TWO small KIDS..begging kids ...

So those boys were begging..some gave ..some didn't ..some abused... Just from the crowds a teen aged boy appeared..he bought two plates of SAMOSA, one for each.. and gave it to them.. Mind it, the boys didn't go to him.. he came forward himself.. I salute that BOY for the courage.. this takes a lot of inner strength !
I was watching the little boys having SAMOSA.. so small they were.. their eyes looked so innocent.. we can't earn even at the age of 15..and those little kids have to earn to live at so innocent age.. what do we expect them to become later..how can we forgive ourselves of our responsibility if they get involved in some crime later ?
They looked to me like a grownup's .. they were taking care of themselves even at such tender age .. things like this shake me... We don't let a chance go by to critisize when they steal, rob.. but what do we expect from them ? They have faced harsh conditions so early..what is the kids fault..ohh yes..the family they were born in !
Aren't we responsible in some way or the other... ??

Train journey to home : Girl descrimination

Travelling by train has always fascinated me, this time wasn't any different. Whenever I travel lots of thought come into my mind. So here I go :-)

===========================================
We still differentiate between a boy and a girl
===========================================

I was travelling by AC 2 tier, it was necessary to reveal the class because we all think people travelling in those classes are educated, informed... but to my astonishment this wasn't the case !

There was a family.. 1 small boy, 1 small girl, DADAJI, DADIJI and NANI.. It was dinner time and all were having dinner. I remember my childhood days when we liked to eat dinner served by Pantry, same was the case with the boy and girl. Few minutes later Pantry dinner was being served. Little boy started asking his DADA, DADI for it.. How could the girl miss this, so she also asked for it :-)
Till here everything appeared to be normal..but what surprised me was the order for just 1 plate. You guessed it right, boy was served and the girl wasn't. I could see pain in her face, which clearly suggested that this wasn't the first time. So what could see do..nothing but she went to sleep in her berth.

After few moments when the boy had his fill, DADAJI called the girl to have some from his brother's plate. ..but why ? Why not brother from his sister's plate... ??
This may appear not to be an issue, but I was there to witness the partiality in favour of the boy child. The pain in her eyes told all, but what can see do ? She has been facing all this before without knowing ... This clearly suggests no matter how educated we are, no matter how elite we look like, no matter how modern we make of ourselves, no matter what we pretend.. we are a society who still discriminates between a boy and a girl....
